Below a list of local/regional/state scholarships will be posted when available. They are arranged by due date. The due date, dollar amount (if known), and link to application (if available online) are on the left and information for the scholarship is on the right. Contact Dr. Henke if you have questions. 

Note: Information about the Kauffman Scholarship will be given to senior girls on May 1st each year. 

Nancy Shew Memorial Scholarship

April 23

This scholarship is offered in memory of Nancy Shew, a teacher at the Princeton Elementary School and a tireless worker and servant to the community of Princeton.  This scholarship is open to any high school senior pursuing a degree in EDUCATION or ART.  Please type the application. Submit application to Dr. Henke by 3pm on April 23. 

Loutzenhiser & Jones Attendance Scholarship

Students must achieve 95% attendance or better their senior year. Complete the application and turn in to Dr. Henke by 3pm on April 30 and she will calculate your attendance. Award amount depends on number of recipients (last year they each got $782). 

MFA Scholarship

Applicant must be a child or grandchild of a member-level customer (member # must be included on application). In past years, this has been a $2000 scholarship. Applicant must be pursuing bachelors or associates degree. Scholarship will be paid directly to the college. Local selection committee considers the applicant’s:
•Interest in furthering his/her education in agriculture or other fields that benefit rural life.
•Participation and leadership in school, church and community activities.
•Reputation for good citizenship and moral character.
•Financial need, income and willingness to work.
•Satisfactory academic progress.

Missouri Assoc. of Mutual Insurance Comp. Scholarships

Must be attending a Missouri college or tech school. Must submit a transcript and photo, in addition to the application. Make sure you click the high school (not the college application).

Community Foundation of NW MO Scholarships

This is a collection of scholarships that only requires one application to complete (some may require supplemental materials). Start by registering and answering the qualifying questions. It will then tell you what scholarships you qualify for based on your answers to the questions.

4H Scholarships

Talk to your club leader to obtain the county scholarship. Click on the apply button to the left to apply for the state scholarships. 

North Missouri Mutual Insurance Scholarship

Applicant's parents DO NOT need to be insured by North Missouri Mutual to be considered for this scholarship. A minimum 2.5 GPA and plan to attend an institution in the state of Missouri is required. Complete application and return to Dr. Henke before March 15 at 3pm. 

Smithfield Family Scholarship

A $2500 Smithfield Hog Production Missouri Family Scholarship will be awarded to two students enrolling in at least 9 credit hours. In addition to education requirements, eligible recipients for these scholarships must meet the following criteria: must be a high school senior graduating in 2021 OR a current college student AND the child of a Smithfield Hog Production Missouri Employee OR themselves be currently employed by Smithfield Hog Production Missouri OR the child of a Smithfield Hog Production Missouri contract grower. Students who are eligible for both Smithfield scholarships are encouraged to submit an application for each.

Smithfield Community Scholarship

The $500 Smithfield Hog Production Missouri Community Scholarships will be awarded to students graduating in 2021 from a high school in a county in which Smithfield Hog Production Missouri has company-owned or contract operations; two will be awarded in Mercer County. Students who are eligible for both Smithfield scholarships are encouraged to submit an application for each.

GRM/FRS Scholarship

One application can apply you for both the local GRM Scholarship and the national FRS Scholarship. Immediate family members of GRM employees are not eligible for local scholarship but are for the FRS. For FRS, parent/guardian must be a GRM member in good-standing. FRS awards several scholarships worth $3000. The GRM award amount is unknown. All applicants must: 

  • Be accepted by an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school

  • Have at least a 2.0 GPA

  • Express an interest to return to a rural community following graduation​

Shelter Insurance Scholarship

Applicant's parents DO NOT need to be insured by Shelter Insurance to be considered for this scholarship. Children of Shelter employees may not apply. Applicants can be attending any accredited college. Award will be paid directly to the college. Complete application and return to Dr. Henke before March 31 at 3pm.

Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri Scholarship

The recipients will be chosen on the following criteria and not financial need: Academic Achievement, Community Activities and Leadership, and School Activities and Leadership. To apply for this scholarship, applicants need to submit a resume that includes their grade point average as of the end of junior year, school and community activities, and a 200 word essay outlining educational goals and future plans. There is no formal application. The recipients will receive the $500 scholarship upon completion of their first semester of further education. Individuals who are enrolling in full time military duties are equally entitled to the scholarship and will receive their scholarship upon satisfactory completion of basic training or equivalent and upon assignment of duty station. Individuals with parents, siblings, or grandparents working for Farmers Bank are not eligible. One chosen in Mercer County. Submit application materials to Dr. Henke by March 31 at 2:30pm. 

Derry Award

Applicants must be majoring in some aspect of agriculture OR athletics at a 2 or 4 year college. Must be attending a Missouri college OR get permission from the committee for an out of state college (talk to Dr. Henke about this). Must have an ACT composite score of 19 higher and/or rank in the top 30% of the graduating class and/or have a cumulative GPA of 3.25. Submit to Dr. Henke by 3pm on April 1st. 

J and J Donelson Memorial Scholarship

The J Morgan and Jeania Donelson Memorial Scholarship has been established to honor Judge and Mrs. Donelson’s dedication to their community and county. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving senior student in both the Princeton and North Mercer school districts in the amount of $500 each. May be attending any college or technical school. Complete the application and submit to Dr. Henke by 3pm on April 1. 

Bill & Ledah Prichard Memorial Scholarship

The family of the late Bill and Ledah Prichard would like to offer a $500 scholarship to a Princeton graduate who plans to enter a post-secondary school. Priority will be given to those planning to pursue a degree in education, agriculture, or a technical or vocational program as those were the programs Mr. Prichard taught. However, his family encourages all students to apply.

NCMC Scholarships

For those attending NCMC, this application applies you for all NCMC academic scholarships. You must complete it, print it and mail/fax it so leave plenty of time. 

Mercer County Farm Bureau Scholarship

April 1

Student completes application (including having Dr. Henke do counselor's section) and turns in to Farm Bureau office. One chosen in Mercer County. Office is now located at 401 N Jefferson St. Suite A. 

Frank Buchtel Memorial Rotary Scholarship

April 1

$500

May be attending any college or technical school. Complete the application and submit to Dr. Henke by 3pm on April 1. Last year, two $500 awards were given. 

Bettie Thogmartin Memorial Scholarship

$300

No application. Complete a 300 word essay about why you are pursuing education in the health care field, what your plans are after college, and why you are deserving of this scholarship. Email your essay to Debbie Thogmartin at debbiethogmartin@icloud.com

Kent Donelson Memorial Agriculture Scholarship

The family of the late Kent Donelson will award one deserving PHS senior a one-time $500 scholarship in his memory. Kent was a businessman, farmer, husband, father, and grandfather who dedicated his life to agriculture. Applicants must be pursuing a college (technical, two-, or four-year) education in an agriculture-related field. Applicants should submit their application to Dr. Henke by 3pm on April 15th.

Mike Henke Agriculture Scholarship

April 15

Students who plan to pursue a career in agriculture may apply (they can be going straight into the work-force or attending a college or tech school). Complete application including an essay that explains why you are interested in agriculture, how you plan to be in agriculture and what "farming" means to you. Turn in application to Dr. Henke by 3pm on April 15th. 

Princeton Alumni Endowment Board Scholarship

April 16

Complete application and mail directly to Cheston Easter. Make sure to get it to Dr. Henke in plenty of time for her to do the counselor's part. Do not have to be the child of an alumni to apply. This year they are giving two $1500 awards.
